Two church services were held to officially start the year in prayer for the various forces including Police, Immigration, Customs, Environmental Health, Fire Department, Airports Authority Security, Prison Service and Road Traffic in both Grand Turk and Providenciales. The key message came from Bishop C. Alexander Williams who called on hearers to be honest and pay their taxes and dues to country… called on expat officers and residents to love this country where they are blessed to live their lives… called on the Police to restore true community policing and to exercise greater compassion… called on government to more highly consider the Belonger worker and to promote and pay them well… there was a challenge to introduce new, tougher laws and to make greater efforts to assimilate cultures and all were called to remember that there was a time in the TCI, when God was not left out. The service featured worship performances by the Abundant Life praise team, brass band music by the Royal Turks and Caicos Police Band and remarks from Deputy Police Commissioner, Rodney Adams; Opposition Leader, Sharlene Robinson and Premier, Rufus Ewing. The theme for the service was Serving God and Country. Related Items:aundant life ministries, bishop alexander C. Jose Mourinho is hungry for points as Manchester United look to get their top-four Premier League hopes back on track against Fulham on SaturdayThe Red Devils are on a four-match winless run in the English top-flight and find themselves already 18 points adrift of leaders Manchester City after Wednesday’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal. With hopes of a Premier League title now practically over, United’s main goal for this season is to seal a top-four finish. But they are eight points behind fourth-place Chelsea and must return to winning ways immediately.Although Mourinho concedes that, even against bottom-side Fulham, nothing is guaranteed ahead of this weekend’s showdown at Old Trafford.Maguire says United need to build on today’s win George Patchias – September 14, 2019 Harry Maguire wants his United teammates to build on the victory over Leicester City.During the summer, Harry Maguire was referred to as the ultimate…“I sat here a few weeks ago speaking about December and [having] no defeats – that’s a reality,” said the United boss, according to SportsMax.“[We have had] good fights, good spirit but just one victory against Young Boys [in the Champions League], and three draws, [but] we need points, Fulham are the same.“I want to be positive and think we are going to win, but if we don’t [win], give credit to people who deserve credit.“The game is not 11 v 0, it’s going to be 11 v 11, with good players on the other side, the position and points [total] don’t say much about [the] potential of the team.“They have one of the two most important managers in Premier League history, they have the potential to come here and give us a difficult match.”

April 30, 2015 Regular readers will recall that my first date with the Apple Watch did not go smoothly. I was wearing it wrong. The apps were sluggish. The first time I tried to message a friend it crashed. One week later, I still don’t love it. But I am having feelings. Mostly after small victories.I felt something when I figured out how to tune Twitter so that I wasn’t bombarded with notifications.I felt something when, six days later, I managed to add someone to my friends screen.I felt something when I began to get comfortable with the interface vocabulary — the vertical swipes, the horizontal swipes, the force touch, the digital crown.“Do not expect to strap on Apple Watch for the first time and feel entirely at home,” says Daring Fireball’s John Gruber in Watch, Apple Watch, an essay that makes a useful distinction between needing a wireless computer on your wrist and wanting one. This is a device that demands exploration. It needs to be mastered. It needs to be fine-tuned to fit your digital lifestyle. And when it does, when Apple’s “most personal” device starts to feel at home, you can’t help bonding with it.I’m reminded of the way people who mastered a complex piece of pre-WYSIWYG software — the typists who memorized WordPerfect’s obscure keystroke combinations, for example — clung to it until their cold dead fingers had to be pried off the keyboard.I’ve searched for a term to describe this phenomenon, and I think I’ve found it: Stockholm syndrome. Here’s how Wikipedia, borrowing from an FBI Law Enforcement Bulletin, defines it.Stockholm syndrome, or capture-bonding, is a psychologicalphenomenon in which hostages expressempathy and sympathy and have positive feelings toward their captors, sometimes to the point of defending and identifying with the captors. These feelings are generally considered irrational in light of the danger or risk endured by the victims, who essentially mistake a lack of abuse from their captors for an act of kindness.Mistaking a lack of abuse for an act of kindness. That’s me and my Apple Watch, one week later.
