The footage, which was captured by infrared cameras, shows the cub opening its eyes and getting cozy with its mama.This sweet milestone is important for the cub, which was born on Dec. 1, Fox News reported. Newborn polar bear cubs are born deaf and blind, and they’re not able to see or hear until about 30 days after they’re born.Following this heartwarming moment, Tonia has enjoyed cleaning, nursing, and sleeping with her cub. The cub’s father was born at the zoo, however, he is not involved with raising the baby polar bear.Zoo officials have observed Tonia and her cub through cameras and microphones in the litter cave. They’re watching them remotely to make sure they can enjoy each other’s company without disturbances.
